| Divine Order/Church Government |
| “God has a church. It is not the great cathedral, neither is it the national establishment, neither is it the various denominations; it is the people who love God and keep His commandments. "Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them" Matt. 18:20. Where Christ is even among the humble few, this is Christ's church, for the presence of the High and Holy One who inhabiteth eternity can alone constitute a church.” UL 315. God’s final movements going forward must be Holy Spirit led, and “unless kept by the power of God” [our organizations and institutions] “will work under Satan’s dictation to bring men under the control of men.” TM 366. Our eyes must be ever drawn, fixed and glued to Christ, for it has ever been Satan’s design, “to draw the minds of the people from Jesus to man.” EW 213. The Lord wants the Holy Ghost to be King among us. The Holy Spirit is to take first place in the Church of the living God. Divine Guidance through the person of the Holy Spirit is essential to the completion of Christ’s work in and thru His Church in these last days. Without Christ as the head of the Church there will be no ending of confusion and strife among God’s people. Throughout the history of the Christian Church it has ever been unbelief and a lack of faith and trust in God and His promises; which have kept away from us and the world a complete revelation of the goodness of God as revealed in the life of Christ. We have lacked faith in the leading of His Spirit and our trust in Him wavers. We would rather trust in and follow the seen: Man—(human wisdom and strength.) Let us look away from man to Christ our High Priest who “ever liveth to make intercession” for us. We are stewards of the Lord’s talents and are called to His vineyard to work, revealing the love of God to our fellow man. Without a vital and living connection with Christ representative on earth--His Holy Spirit, our work for Him as a body is powerless and less than nothing. We are to be daily learners in the school of Christ, growing in Grace and as we grow the Church of the living God grows in the likeness of Christ. He who is the greatest among us is a servant of all. Christ example of a self-sacrificing life should be our vision for service. God wants us to stop conferring with flesh and blood. God is our Lord; the field is the world; all souls are His, and we are debtor to all. And they will know that we are Christians by our love. God’s Order and Government are not of this world, in fact they are out of this world. An order of things based on the goodness and mercy of God, led by the commander of the Heavenly Host Himself, Christ Jesus. |
